Professor Tim Mays
Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Bath
Interests:
Hydrogen storage and sustainable hydrogen.
Biography:
Tim is Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Bath; Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment; and Co-Director of the Centre for Sustainable and Circular Technologies (CSCT).
Research interests include hydrogen storage, especially in nanoporous materials; nanostructured materials for sustainable energy; hydrogen storage for energy systems; advanced materials for environmental control; characterisation and design of porous solids; molecular simulations of gas-sold interfaces; novel methods for studying porosity in solid materials; and the effects of porosity on material properties such as chemical reactivity and mechanical strength.
Tim has over 25 years of academic research experience in the broad area of energy materials. He has won over £25m of research funding, and delivered over 140 research outputs mainly in journals, books and conference proceedings.
